One of the great aspects of Woodgrain’s Health Advantage Plus Plan is the full coverage of many preventive care services and medications*.
In addition to a healthy lifestyle, preventive medications can help people with certain conditions avoid further or more serious illnesses. These medications are prescribed to prevent the occurrence of a chronic disease or condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, asthma, osteoporosis, or heart disease. For these kinds of health conditions, taking preventive care drugs prescribed by your doctor can help you stay healthy today, and help you save on future health care costs by managing health concerns before they become serious.
Many preventive medications for these diseases or conditions are covered under Woodgrain’s Health Advantage Plus Plan at 100%*. In other words, individuals covered by the plan do not pay anything, or may pay only a copay, for preventive medications on the Preventive Drug List.
By providing this list to you, Woodgrain hopes to make it easier for you and your doctor to determine the right medications that will be best at meeting both your health and financial needs.
Many other prescription drugs not listed on the Preventive Drug List are covered by your plan. You may need to meet the plan’s deductible to receive the highest level of benefits.
Medications on the Preventive Drug List help prevent, treat and manage many health concerns. Some of these conditions, if not prevented or managed, can lead to serious illnesses and complications. Following your doctor’s treatment plan, including taking prescribed medications as directed, can help you live a healthier life today, and avoid serious illness and high health care costs in the future.
